DESCRIPTION:  \nWe are only 2 days away from LatBAN’s Investor of the Year 2021: conference and award ceremony. Our members LatBAN (Latvian Business Angel Network) have put together an amazing program and now all that’s missing is your presence. The event will happen Online\, Thursday\, March 31st from 16:00 – 19:30 (Riga\, Latvia time zome). The program is attached below.  \n  \nIn response to the war in Ukraine\, we know you want to find out how will the sanctions influence the economy in Europe. LatBAN’s conference Investor of the Year 2021 will look at the situation from Latvia’s perspective on macroeconomic changes and how can we help Ukraine recover as this war is not only horrible news for mankind\, it will also influence the economy of the whole of Europe in the coming months and years. Latvia and the Baltics are safe thanks to NATO and other international treaties. However\, Latvians feel that the attack on Ukraine is an attack on democracy and the economy of the whole of Europe (think about travel\, logistics from Asia\, etc.) and so they want to look at the macroeconomic forecasts and learn from Georgias and Israel’s war experience\, how can we help Ukraine become stronger and recover after the war.  \n  \nSpeakers will represent high-level experts from the Latvian Business Angel community\, Latvian VC funds\, Latvian National Bank “Latvijas banka”\, SEB Bank\, Ukraine’s\, Georgias\, and Israeli experts.  \n  \nWhy Georgian expert? Because Georgia had war in 2008 against Russia and now their economy is flourishing\, but it’s not a miracle\, it took a lot of decisions and financial support from the EU to make it happen. Why Israel? Simply because they are all the time living in a military conflict but the entrepreneurs continue doing business and the world calls Israel the startup nation. Of course\, their case and strength are very different from Ukraine’s\, there’s still a lot to learn about how are they managing their economy. \n  \nAfter the conference part\, there will be an award ceremony announcing the best investors and VC funds of 2021. \n  \nThe event will happen in English.
