SUMMARY:How I Migrated: Duco's Technical Journey to AWS
DESCRIPTION:The Tech Talk will take place online on the 9th of September at 13:00PM CET. \nHow I Migrated: Technical Journeys to AWS is a three-part webinar series where members of our AWS Startups community along with an AWS Solutions Architect will discuss the reasons they decided to make the move to AWS and will go through the step-by-step process of how they did this. For the third and final episode\, Duco will join in\, a startup that provides intelligent\, self-service data engineering in the cloud\, powered by machine learning. Because a large portion of Duco’s clients are in the Financial Services industry\, Duco’s technical team needed to reduce end-user latency\, increase reliability across different geographic regions\, enable faster releases of products and services\, and support the specific needs of their clients around regulatory compliance and elasticity to spin servers up and down as required. \nLearning Objectives: \n• Understand the importance of elasticity: changing regions in a short amount of time and being able to use as much capacity as needed during customer peak times\n• Top tips for using Amazon EKS for managed Kubernetes instead of a lift and shift into a single container\n• Find out why Duco decided on an incremental migration approach and the results this delivered \nFor more information on the event and to register: \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:First Financing Innovative Clean Tech Virtual Conference
DESCRIPTION:How can public and private investors join forces with the Innovation Fund to deliver the European Green Deal?\nUnlocking investments in clean technologies is at the heart of the European Green Deal and is a pivotal element in Europe’s strategy to repair economic damage from the COVID-19 crisis. The Innovation Fund with its around €10 billion of support over 2020-2030 is one of the world’s largest funding programs for the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. That makes it a key tool for Europe to become the first climate-neutral bloc in the world by 2050. But it cannot deliver this endeavour alone and will need to leverage public and private sources of funding to deliver the technological revolution that Europe needs. \nThis virtual conference will be the first of a series of Financing Innovative Clean Tech conferences designed to raise awareness among the community of public and private financiers about the many business opportunities brought about by the Innovation Fund and to promote a dialogue with industry. \nThe first call of the Innovation Fund for large-scale projects opened on 3 July with a budget of €1 billion for breakthrough technologies for renewable energy\, energy-intensive industries\, energy storage\, and carbon capture\, use and storage. The Commission is working on the first call for small-scale projects to be launched in end of 2020. \nConference objectives: \nBy 2025 the first projects awarded funding under the Innovation Fund will need to reach financial close. This 1st Financing Innovative Clean Tech virtual conference will provide insight into how to reach this crucial step of project development. \nFinanciers coming from different market segments and industry will share their views on: \n\nWhat makes an innovative clean tech project attractive for financiers?\nHow to balance profitability and innovativeness?\nHow to structure the financing of innovative clean tech projects?\nWhat added value can the Innovation Fund bring to investors and project promoters?\n\nRegister Here
